Republika Srpska’s PM Milorad Dodik and the president of the Swisslion-Takovo conglomerate, Serbian entrepreneur Rodoljub Draskovic, inaugurated yesterday a confectionery plant in Trebinje – an investment worth EUR 18 million.
Dodik said this is a new important business partner of RS, and Draskovic announced it is a new giant in the food industry. He plans 30,000-tonne output in the next three years "in the most profitable factory in the SEE"; the product range will include chocolate spread, Turkish delight, biscuits, etc. It took five months to renovate production area on 19,500 square meters.
30 per cent of this plant’s profit will be invested in the Swisslion tools industry (Industrija alata). 170 of workers previously manufacturing tools are now employed by the confectionery plant. Draskovic decided to reorganize the tool industry after it was badly affected by the global crisis.
